“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not parish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
When I was a child, I thought God was a harsh deity that kept track of every mistake that I made. Over time, I realized that I was taking some of my relationships with authority figures in my life and putting the same characteristics onto God. I found that I had to open my mind and read about the life of Jesus in order to figure out what God is really like. I discovered that God loves me. I find that this is the message that I most desire to remember. This message is so important to me because I craved love at such an intense level that it seemed to be unquenchable.
Questions to ponder:
1. How great would a person’s love have to be in order for that person to be willing to give up his only son for you?
2. How great would a person’s love have to be in order for that person to willingly be tortured and die for you?
3. God loved you so much that he gave up his only son. Jesus, the son of God, loved you so much that he died. How does that make you feel?
Prayer:
Oh, God. Help me to remember that You love me even when I feel lonely and unloved. When I feel unlovable, please touch my heart with Your loving presence. Amen.
I am having one of those moments when I am misreading words. I had read your title as “Sacred of God”.
I thought it was worth sharing (with a chuckle), are you “Scared of God?” , no we are “Sacred of God!” Something to ponder, what that means.
